CBBC Script Writing Competition.

Since my attempt at writing a play for my A363 course, I've had a little fancy to write and submit a script. And, thanks to Antonia, I’ve learnt of a competition that CBBC are running. It’s an opportunity open to any writer who wants to write Children's drama for the 6-12 age range. I know I am knee deep in my novel at the moment. But I really would like to give this a go, if only for more experience of writing scripts.

And talking of my novel, here it is in the picture! Yep, I’ve printed it off – Crumbs, what a lot of pages! And it is now covered with edits, and I’ve been juggling it about a bit, getting myself in a complete muddle, truth be told.

Oh and just one more thing before I venture out in the lovely sunshine, I read over at Calistro’s, a wonderful post about saving Salt Publishers. Nip over and have a read, if you haven’t already! It brought a lump to my throat. I shall be buying a short story later today.

Good luck with the CCBC effort, Amanda.

The novel looks hefty, as it should. I must admit to muddling myself up when it comes to editing and the final structure.

Good luck with the script. It's not something I've ever attempted because my mind doesn't work that way!

Good luck with your play, Amanda. I look forward to hearing good news.

Best of luck with your editing. I'm now feeling like my novel is much strong and now telling the story I want it to after all my hard work. I hope all goes well with yours too.

Oh well back to my rewriting.

Well done with the novel, Amanda and good luck with CBBC. I think a couple of projects at once is a very good thing...it is, isn't it? (I just had a crisis of confidence then for a moment!)

Thank you, Antonia and thanks again for the link! :-)

Thanks Helen, I'm not sure my mind works that way either, if I'm honest. Script are very consise, and I tend to be a bit too descriptive - but nothing ventured... :-)

Thank you, Annie. So glad your novel is coming together so well! :-)

Fanx, TF and Pat xx

Hee hee, Helen, I have those all the time!

Best of luck with the script writing. I entered a competition last year to write a 10 minute script. I also wanted to know what it was like, and enjoyed it

I've bought a book from Salt too.

Ooh it's exciting seeing your book looking almost like a proper ... book!

I've ordered some short stories from Salt, by Vanessa Grebbie, which I've actually been meaning to do for ages - she's very talented :o)

Good luck with the CBBC script - I've never tried writing one before.

Thanx, Karen :-) If you could see the red scrawl all over it though, you'd know it isn't a real book :-(
